Workshop on XRD and XRF Applications for Research and Industry
On September 18 2019, a workshop was held as part of community service, which was a collaboration held by KK ESDB FTTM with PT Lab Sistematika Indonesia (PT LSI) as a representative from Rigaku. The event was opened by Prof.Dr. Komang Anggayana, MS, as Chair of the Earth Resources Exploration KK, as well as representing FTTM ITB.
Three speakers at the event:
- Irwan Iskandar, P.hD, (FTTM ITB) provided material on Application of XRD & XRF
- Dr. Mont. Andy Yahya Al Hakim (FTTM ITB) with the title Mineral Mapping, XRD interpretation and combination with XRF
- Dr. Melia Laniwati Gunawan (ITB Catalyst Engineering Center & ITB Chemical Engineering) with the title XRD and Wavelength Dispersive-XRF Applications in the field of Chemical Technology – Processes and Applications in the fields of Chemistry, Pharmacy
The ITB Hydrogeology and Hydrogeochemistry Laboratory manages XRD Smartlab and WDXRF Supermini 200 equipment obtained through a grant program funded by JICA through the SATREPS program. These two pieces of equipment are tools that have a very high level of use, which supports research not only for ITB students, but also for industry and other universities. High enthusiasm was shown by the workshop room being full. No less than 53 participants came from various institutions both inside and outside ITB, including:

Acara dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi peralatan EDXRF yang telah disediakan oleh PL LSI, serta melihat dan mencoba langsung preparasi sampel untuk XRD dan XRF di Lab Hidrogeologi dan Hidrogeokimia ITB. Acara berlangsung dengan meriah diselingi dengan pertanyaan dan diskusi, baik pada sesi tanya jawab maupun pada saat demonstrasi alat. Acara ditutup dengan pembagian doorprise berupa 5 paket logam mulia dan buku Mineralogi kepada peserta yang beruntung.
